Small Businessman. Father. Husband. Conservative reformer. Boilermaker. Native Hoosier. A small businessman, born and raised in the 5th District, Brose grew up on the farms, baseball and football fields around Sheridan (home of the Blackhawks). A graduate of Purdue’s School of Agriculture, most times Brose can be found helping Hoosier small businesses grow. An avid horseman and outdoorsman, Brose spends a lot of his “free time” outdoors, fishing, shooting clay pigeons or on horseback. A father of three boys and husband to Kate, Brose is a proud father and is active in the boys lives, having served as coach, scout leader and fishing instructor. Brose also worked with Senator Dan Quayle, managed Senator Dan Coats’ successful re-election campaign in 1992, and statewide Republican leaders elected him in 1993 as Secretary of the Indiana GOP. Ten years later, Brose ran as the Republican candidate in the predominantly Democrat 7th U.S. House District, nearly defeating then-Representative Julia Carson. After 25 years of farm field, board room, and public policy experience, Brose is now offering to put his diverse experience to work for the 5th District in Washington. “We have to try to return to a form of citizen representation, where good folks leave their work to serve for a time, not for a lifetime,” says the advocate of term limits. |
